The Techzilla has been a fairly popular youth model for the
last couple of years. It is a multi-wall design, that uses what
Anderson calls "Power Arch" technology. The idea behing the multi-wall
design is that it will provide solid performance throughout the life of
the bat, and not lose their pop much like other aluminum bats do. The
Techzilla has a drop of -9. This bat runs $250 retail.

The CF4 ST is a continuation of the CF4 from last year. It's a 1-piece, all composite, end-loaded model. It's designed to flex then recoil on impact. DeMarini has added 2X the Silver Trace composite material making it stronger and stiffer than last year's model. This is also supposed to create a larger sweet spot, by increasing the strength of the bat toward the handle.
DeMarini's technology used in the CF4 ST are the Pitch Black Plus composite material, and their Silver Trace bonding agent. Also, the Hub-End Cap is supposed to push the "hub of energy" toward the sweet spot of the bat when contact is made harnessing the energy and producing more power. The Rotation Index is also used as has been on previous DeMarini baseball bats.
The adult version will run you the standard $400. The senior -8 model comes in at $300, and the youth -11 chimes in at $250.

Next in the lineup of 2011 DeMarini baseball bats are the Vendetta C6 and the Vendetta. The Vendetta C6 is a 2-piece, all composite model, that uses DeMarini's C6 composite material with a large weave, giving it more flex and trampoline affect. The handle uses the Rails technology, which are shafts that run the vertical length of the handle to reinforce the bat and generate more power. It also uses the Hub End Cap that helps preserve energy, preventing it from dissipating, sending it back to the ball to generate more power.
The Vendetta is a 2-piece hybrid. It uses a composite handle with the Rails technology, but the barrel is made from DeMarini's SC4 alloy.
The C6 is going to run a bit higher in price than the original Vendetta, because of the new technology. The C6 runs $300 in the adult category, $250 in senior -10, and $220 in the youth -13 category. The Vendetta runs $250 for the adult model, $200 for the senior -9, and $170 for the youth -12 model.

Next in line is the Voodoo Black model. It's a 2-piece hybrid model with the SC4 alloy barrel, and a composite handle. The handle uses the same Pitch Black Plus technology that is used in the CF4 ST. It has an end cap similar to the Hub End-Cap to conserve energy on contact. The adult Voodoo Black costs $300, the senior -9 is $250, while the youth -13 costs $180.

The M2M is a 2-piece, all aluminum model. This is no surprise considering M2M stands for "metal-to-metal." This is an end-loaded bat designed for power hitters. The M2M refers to the 2 pieces of SC4 alloy handle and barrel. The adult and senior -5 models both cost $250, while the youth -12 costs $150.

The Surge is the same as the SV12 from last year in that it is a 2-piece hybrid model, using the IMX composite technology for the handle. They use Easton's new THT100 alloy, except with the XL Ozone which still uses the V12 alloy from last year. This year they have made the barrel slightly longer than the SV12 from last year.

The Rival XL is a 1-piece all aluminum model that is similar to last year's V12. It obviously uses Easton's V12 Scandium alloy, as well as their Ozone technology. The claim is that this bat has the largest sweet spot of all the aluminum bats in baseball. Like the Surge, this model also uses the Ozone technology. This year the Rival is only available in the senior league category, with drops of -5, -9, and -10 ounces. They all run at $180.

The MV3 Composite model is a one piece, all composite design. The technologies used in this bat are Miken's Inner Flex, which is supposed to have optimized the amount of flex in the barrel. The 100 Comp is the name they've given to their composite technology meaning that the bat is made with a high quality aerospace grade fiber. The name that Miken has given to the resin they use is MPa7.
Miken is obviously showing the utmost confidence in this model with the adult model retailing for $400 like other major competitors. Senior league models are $300, and youth are $250.

Rawlings is now using the same Exogrid technology that has been used by Louisville. The Exogrid technology is from a company called Vyatek Sports. The 5150 is a 1-piece aluminum alloy model that uses Rawlings' 5150 Alloy. It also uses Vyatek's "Ph.D" technology, or "passive hybrid damping" to help eliminate vibration to the hands on contact. The selling point is that it will revolutionize all-aluminum bats by being one of the first to eliminate vibration on contact.
It's available in the adult, senior league -8.5, and youth -11 models. The adult model is $300, the senior model $250, and the youth is $200.

The 5150 Composite is the same from the 2010 lineup, with a senior league -9, and -10, as well as a youth -11 model. The adult version is still available in the 2010 version. This is a 1-piece, all composite, multi-wall design that has a balanced feel. It uses "aerospace grade aramid and carbon fibers" as stated on the Rawlings website. They also claim that this bat has the largest and most responsive sweet spot that can be made on a BESR certified bat. The senior league models retails for $280 and the youth at $200.

Louisville has stuck to their guns and created another version of the Exogrid. The main difference between this year's model and last year's is it has a different alloy. Instead of the ST+20 alloy from year's past, this year's model uses an alloy called AC21 Scandium. This alloy is supposed to be 20% stronger than the ST+20, which Louisville claims was the toughest bat alloy in the industry.
Other than the alloy, the Exogrid technology hasn't changed. Carbon composite inserts are inserted into the grid pattern, and an internal composite sleeve is fused underneath. The alloy forms the grid, and the composite inserts are fit into the holes. This makes this a 1-piece hybrid model bat.
The marketing angle is the same. The Exogrid is supposed to have the stiffest handle in the game. The claims are this design does not flex at the handle like some of the competition, but rather at the barrel to get the maximum whip affect.
The Exogrid 2 is available for every level of play. The retail prices as of July, 2010 are $380 for the adult model, $270 for the senior -8.5 model, and $230 for the youth -12 model.

The H2 is obviously a hybrid model, in which Louisville takes their new AC21 Scandium alloy barrel and fuses it together with their 3X composite handle to form a 1-piece bat. This is very similar to the Exogrid, but is different in that the composite and alloy is fused together a different way. The marketing angle is the same as the Exogrid. Stiffer handles help the barrel flex better, providing more power. This bat is supposed to build on the success of the Exogrid. The adult model runs at $300 retail, the senior -9.5 and -5 at $250, and youth -10 and -13 at $200.

Folks, we have a new model this year for the youngsters (Not available in adult category). The Z-1000 is Louisville's new creation for 2011. It is a 2-piece all composite model, that uses their new iST composite technology. Here are the claims made by Louisville about this model. A solid connection between handle and barrel (unlike competitors), provides more power on balls hit toward the handle. Thinner walls in the barrel, giving better performance, without sacrificing durability. No vibration on off sweet spot hits, due to the 2-piece design. As of now, it is only being sold in the youth -12 category, and costs $300.

The Dynasty is a 1-piece all composite model that uses Louisville's 7C composite material. It looks as though it's only being made in the senior league and youth categories for 2011. The senior model has a -10 drop, which is 1 oz lighter than the 2010 version. This is basically Louisville's alternative option from the 1-piece aluminum models, claiming it performs better than aluminum models. The senior -10 is $200, and the youth -12 is $150.
