Ultimate Pitching Machine by Louisville Slugger

I've heard good things about the Louisville Slugger Ultimate Pitching Machine. If you're looking for a very affordable pitching machine (under $200) that will help you or your child get some consistent cuts, then this one may be for you.

The Louisville Slugger Ultimate Pitching Machine is mostly designed for youth ball players but there is no reason that it cannot also be used by older ballplayers as well. This machine will throw regular baseballs, practice balls, and wiffle balls anywhere from 30-60 mph. You can use it in the cage or out on the field. Older ballplayers will benefit by setting the machine up shorter than the normal 60 ft pitching mound to simulate harder throwing.

It is strictly mechanical and does not require electricity. Not even a battery. It works by setting a ball onto the lever, and pressing down a spring that will catapult the ball toward the plate. After stepping down on the foot pedal, you then use your hand to release the lever as it slings the ball forward.

The great thing about this machine is its affordability. At the time of this writing (April 09') the price is around $170. It is available from Baseball Express.

The Ultimate Pitching Machine appears to be a winner. Especially for the price of $170 it appears to be a god quality product that I've heard good things about. Of the reviews I've read from others I'd have no problem recommending it to any player or parent.
