Sandlot Slugger/Personal Pitcher Review

I have used both the Personal Pitcher and the Sandlot Slugger mini wiffle ball pitching machines and to be honest the Slugger is well worth the extra money. The Personal Pitcher is inconsistent in both pitch speed and location and many of the pitches are no where near the strike zone. This can be very frustrating when all you are doing is retrieving balls that you never even had a chance to hit.

The Slugger throws much harder which allows you to stand further from the machine and throws strikes most of the time even when standing further away. With the variable feeder speed it is much easier to get into a rhythm when hitting and it is not uncommon to be able to hit pitch after pitch (my slugger is older and does not have the timing light).

In short, when the Slugger has run out of balls I usually retrieve most of them from the "outfield" but when the Personal Pitcher runs out of balls most of them are around or behind home plate.

the personal pitcher

I have the personal pitcher and it is a good idea and a useful machine when its working I do like the timing light. before each pitch is delivered the light gets brighter.but it is a flimsy machine. all plastic the battery never works so it cant be used out doors.its been that way with the two I have had. and the owner is none to quick to honor his warranty. he is very hesitant to take his machine back and repair it .instead he tells you he will explain to you the buyer how to fix it your self over the phone . and because it is so flimsy , it just to easy to break it completely like I did.I bought a second one new and right out of box had to tape the insides so the timing light worked.I guess you get what you pay for the next time I going for the sandlot slugger
