Rawlings Baseball Bats of 2009

The 2009 Rawlings baseball bats feature both 1 piece, 2 piece, composite, and aluminum model variations just like many other popular manufacturers. They are the Rush Gold Lite, and Rush Composite Lite models. They are both available in adult, senior league, and youth categories. The senior league models feature a drop 5 and a drop 10 model.

Rush Gold Lite

Rawlings Rush Gold Lite BatThe Rush Gold Lite bat from Rawlings is a 2 piece hybrid model featuring a composite handle, and aluminum alloy barrel. It uses their Dynamic Flex composite handle. Rawlings claims that this handle is 80% stiffer than the competition. Although it is a 2 piece design, it is not highly flexible like some other models from other companies.

The barrel is made of their LiquidMetal Gold aluminum material, which is twice the strength of titanium. The LiquidMetal Gold material is wrapped around the barrel forming a shell to provide an energy transfer on ball contact and increase the trampoline effect.

Summary

The Rush Gold Lite and Composite Lite bats are supposed to be somewhat lighter in their swing weight, meaning that it is loaded more toward the handle for those who prefer a bat heavier toward the hands. Hence the name "Lite." If you know of someone who has used these bats, please feel free to let us know about them below.
