The latest top of the line cleats use a variety of new technology in their design. First and foremost the Mizuno cleats use the new 9 Spike design. Basically, they have added 3 additional cleats in the front of the shoe and angled them in such a way to add more lateral stability for the player.

The next great design feature is the Mizuno Wave Infinity midsoles. Traditional midsoles in shoes use flat materials which results in a deep penetration of the material where impact is made. This causes the material to break down and collapse, greatly reducing the cushioning in your shoe over time. The Infinity Wave disperses the impact forces to provide exceptional cushioning for your feet, resulting in a much longer life for the shoe. It also helps to reduce overpronation which can result in unwanted stress on the knee and ankle joints.

VS-1 foam padding is a cushioning foam used to help reduce shock absorption as well. It is made with a combination of three materials and is positioned from heel to toe in the cleats. It has a durable memory, meaning it returns to original position after impact.

A great deal of research has gone into the design of the new Mizuno baseball cleats. When you add it all up you’ll get a great product that will give you excellent traction and stability while providing maximum cushioning for a greater time span. They are priced around $100-130.
