Miken Baseball Bats

Miken baseball bats are some of the latest to come on the line and join the composite bat fleet. Although not as well-known as some of the more prestigious bat manufacturers, and probably more known for softball bats than baseball, Miken bats do seem to be making their way onto the ball fields as many new players are testing out their latest technologies.

Miken has recently implemented many new technologies in their line of bats with their Heat, Burn, and Torch models. Below you'll find some of those technologies discussed.

Dynamic Flex Ratio (DFR)

Many of the Miken baseball bats have a DFR number associated with each bat, which is either a 180 or a 250. This is a number given to distinguish how much flex the bat handle and barrel has during the swing. The 250 is supposed to have a little less flex than the 180 and is designed more for the power hitter or people with very high bat speeds. The 180 on the other hand is supposed to flex more helping out those with lower swing speeds. The point behind the DFR technology is meant to accommodate the varying bat speeds of different players.

Extended Sweetspot Design (ESD)

Miken claims to have the industry's largest sweetspot on their bats. Of course as you should all know, the larger the sweetspot, the more power that can be developed.

Ballistic Crosslinked System (BCS)

They also claim that through their BCS system, the Miken bat contains the greatest barrell rebound compared to the industry standard composite bat. This means that the ball should bounce off the bat much better than other bats. They claim that their R900 carbon fiber is more durable and more elastic than the competition.
