The Easton baseball bats for 2009 feature 4 main models, known as their HITMATRIX line of bats, along with the Stealth Ozone bat. The HITMATRIX line consists of the Stealth IMX, Synergy IMX, SV12, and the V12. The difference between the four of them are the variations of composite vs. aluminum, and one piece vs. 2 piece designs. The Ozone model is a 2 piece model only available at Baseball Express.

The
Easton Stealth baseball bat is the 2 piece all composite design. IMX,
standing for Integrated Matrix Technology, is the name given for the
composite design on the 2009 Easton baseball bats. They use premium
aerospace grade fibers, angled and layered to provide a large barrel
and sweet spot. They also use Carbon Nanotube Technology, or CNT, which
is an advanced technology that is supposed to strengthen the resin in
the composite material.
It also uses what Easton calls their CXN, or ConneXion
technology. This is the term that describes their 2 piece
bats. ConneXion simply Stmeans that there is a "connection"
between the handle and barrel, as they are 2 separate pieces. This is
said to eliminate vibration to the handle on contact since the 2 pieces
are isolated from another, as well as provide more flex and whip during
the swing. This bat is given the nickname "Clutch."

The
Easton Snyergy bat is a 1 piece all composite design. As you may be
able
to guess, it uses the exact same IMX technology used in the Stealth
IMX. The difference lies in the fact that it does not use the CXN, but
rather SST, or Single System Technology. This is the technology used to
describe their one piece designs. The one piece designs are supposed to
be stiffer than the 2 piece for those who prefer a stiffer, and less
flexible bat.
Easton says that with the one piece designs, you'll be able to
receive instant feedback on the quality of contact you've made with the
ball. Therefore, this bat is given the nickname "Instinct."

The
SV12 is a 2 piece, composite handle, alloy barrel design. It uses IMX
and CXN technology just like the Stealth IMX bat. The only difference
lies in the fact the barrel is made of the latest alloy from Easton
known as their V12 Scandium Alloy. It is the world's first 12 component
alloy, which allows them to optimize wall thickness to create the
world's most durable aluminum bat on the market.
It also uses a technology that Easton calls their Optimal
Hitting Zone, or O-Zone, which is supposed to increase the trampoline
effect. They have thickened the barrel at the taper, and near the end
cap so it is stiffened which will help improve overall barrel
performance. They give this bat the nickname "Reaction."

The
Easton V12 bat is a 1 piece, complete alloy design. It uses the same
V12 alloy
used in the SV12, but there is no composite material in the
handle. Since it is a 1 piece, it uses the same SST technology
used in the Synergy, but without the IMX composite material. For those
of you who still prefer the one piece aluminum bat like ones from years
past. It also uses the O-Zone technology that is used on the SV12. This
bat is given the nickname "Velocity."

The
Stealth Ozone bat is a 2 piece hybrid model that has a composite handle
and aluminum alloy barrel. It uses the same ConneXion technology that
is used in the other 2 piece bats above. It uses the same O-Zone
technology mentioned in the bats above. The main difference is this bat
and the ones above is that is bat uses Easton's Sc900 Scandium alloy
rather than the V12. The Sc900 is a previous version of alloy from
Easton.

With the Easton baseball bats of 2009, you will be able to
choose any variation of 1 piece, 2 piece, composite and alloy designs.
It all depends on what style of bat you prefer. Easton claims that not
every bat works for every swing, which is what led them to come out
with their HITMATRIX line Wof bats. Each bat also has 4 different
ratings in the categories that players will be concerned with. They
include Hitting Area, Swing Weight (M.O.I.), VRS (Vibration Reduction
System) Rating, and Handle Flex Rating. You may use these to help in
your decision as well. Please leave reviews if you have any experience
with any Easton baseball bats.
