The DeMarini baseball bats of 2012 are all 2-piece models, featuring their Half+Half technology. Most are similar models from last year, with the F5 youth and Versus BBCOR model's being the new members to the lineup.
Note: Comparable models listed are similar in construction and price.
CF5 Adult Baseball Bat Senior League -8 Senior League -10 Youth -11 |
At the time of this writing, the "CF" models probably have just about the best reputation in the game. You just never hear anything bad about the CF line. Not to discount the impact of the other models, but DeMarini has really made a name for themselves with the CF3, CF4, and now the CF5.
As far as the specs go, it uses the Half+Half as mentioned, but it also uses Demarini's "Doublewall Composite" technology with two layers of composite material at the barrel. The composite material, used throughout the entire bat is marketed as being extremely light, but strong. At the molecular level the composite fibers are structured in a triangular formation increasing strength and stability. This technology is known as "Tri Strut" or TR3. It also features a load balancing end cap to maintain stiffness in the barrel.
Pricing for the adult is $400, $300 for the senior league models, and $200 for the youth model.
Voodoo Adult -3 Senior League -5 Senior League -9 Youth -13 |
Well if you look past the umm, interesting, paint job, you'll see another one of DeMarini's hot performers. Similar to the CF5, the Voodoo is a two piece, but this one has an alloy barrel instead using Demarini's SC4 alloy, while still using the Tri Strut TR3 composite handle.
It also uses Demarini's patent pending Taper Ring in the BBCOR model only. This is a ring inserted inside the taper of the bat to lower the M.O.I. (Moment of Inertia...google it) to improve swingweight and maintain BBCOR standards. Thickness tuned barrel walls also help maintain BBCOR compliance.
Vexxum Adult -3 Senior League -5 Senior League -10 Youth -11 |
Another classic model from Demarini, the Vexxum also uses hybrid technology of the SC4 alloy barrel, along with their C6 composite material for the handle. The Taper Ring is used in the BBCOR model as well.
Pricing for the Vexxum is $250 for the adult and senior -5 models, $180 for the senior -10 and youth model.
M2M Adult -3 Youth -12 |
The M2M is the all aluminum alloy design, using DeMarini's SC4 alloy throughout. It also uses the Taper Ring in the BBCOR model to maximize sweet spot and improve bat speed, as well as the thickness tuned barrel.
The price of the M2M adult model is $250, while the youth is $150.
![]() Versus Adult -3 |
The Versus is very similar to the M2M in construction using the SC4 alloy throughout, but does not have the Taper Ring in the BBCOR model. Pricing is a little cheaper in the adult model at $200.
Vendetta Senior League -9 Youth -12 |
The Vendetta is a 2-piece, hybrid that uses something called Internal Rails Hybrid Technology in the handle, that is supposed to "extend the barrel into a whole sweet spot. The SC4 alloy is used in the barrel. The price for the senior league model is $200, while the youth is $170.
F5 Youth -10 |
The F5 is a new model that DeMarini has come out with for the youth category. Similar to the CF5, this one is a hybrid with an SC4 alloy double wall barrel. It's also a little cheaper than the CF5 youth model at $230.
