The Combat bats models are made of all composite material using absolutely no aluminum at all. The Combat brand is known for being one of the biggest pioneers of composite bats, therefore they feature no aluminum models. Most of the Combat bats are made for youth ball players, but they do feature one model for adults as well.

Combat Virus Bat

The Combat Virus bat is an all composite 2008 model available in the adult, senior league, and youth categories. It uses some technologies that are worth noting. Combat claims that their bats are known for their soft feel, and call this their Ultra Soft Feel technology. This results from their composite design called Anisotropic Composite Technology or ACT. This design varies the stiffness across the handle and barrel and makes contact with the ball feel softer, and have less vibration.

Another technology used in Combat bats is called "Hot out of the Wrapper." This is designed so that there is no break-in period required before the bat will give you peak performance. Many say that composite bats must be broken in before they exhibit maximum performance, but Combat makes their bats to give you this right "out of the wrapper."

The Virus is made of an ultra strong composite material that uses carbon nanotubes (a very strong substance) in the liquid resin filling in the gaps between the composite fibers. Combat calls this technology Nanocomp Technology Inside (NTI) as this makes for a very strong and durable bat.

Combat B2 Da Bomb Bat

The B2 Da Bomb bat is new for 2009 and only available in the youth category. It features a single wall construction allowing for an extra long barrel design. It also features the same NTI technology used in the Virus model. 

The B2 Da Bomb also uses something called Gear Technology (GT). At the taper of the bat between the handle and barrel are grooves in the bat, where if a cross-section were taken, would resemble a gear. This is different from most bats that are just circular. This provides a softer feel and better performance on hits close to the barrel.

Summary

All Combat bats are designed with optimum swing weights. This means that the composite material allows them to disperse the weight at proper locations on the bat, making the balance just right. This produces a bat that has a lighter feel resulting in better bat speed for the hitter.
